Salzburg is not only world-famous for its ingenious son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salzburg´s landmark, the Hohensalzburg Fortress, is towering over the roofs of the city. At the beginning of the 17th century, Salzburg evolved from a medieval town to one of the most beautiful Baroque cities in the world. Magnificent archiepiscopal buildings such as Mirabell Palace, the Residenz or Hellbrunn Palace are living history.
